Company History

How it all started....

Andrew is the son of a local farming family and from a very early age, he was always taking things apart to see how they worked. So after finishing school he started on as an apprentice at what was then, R Yates, a Ford New Holland Dealership. He attended Askham Bryan College and then went on to attend manufacturer courses at Borham House. Working for 14 years through the ranks resulted in him becoming workshop foreman at Yates.

Timeline:

1996

In 1996 Andrew decided to set out on his own and bought a van to go servicing and repairing on farms.  Business grow very quickly and soon Andrew was employing 4 men and running his business from a friends farm at Old Malton. Andrew was also sourcing good second hand machinery for his customers.

This progress continued throughout 1996 and into 2000 . The business has gone from strength to strength since these early years, and in 2004 Andrew Marwood Limited embarked on a whole new area of sales.

2004

Always looking for a new challenge Andrew was approached by Dieci telehandlers and bought his first demonstrator. Dieci was unknown at the time and new in to the Country but Andrew saw the strength and the build quality of these machines and knew he could sell them. With having a demonstrator, customers asked if they could hire this and soon it went out on short term hire and it got to a point when it was never available to demo to customers. So it was at that point Andrew decided to buy another machine and that was the start of the hire fleet at Andrew Marwood Limited which at present is 6 telehandlers and 1 tractor.

2005

Andrew was awarded the Redrock dealership and also became a dealer for and Nilfisk Alto.

2007

This was a big year for the Marwood group who relocated to a new site at Full Sutton. Agri Argo tractors approached Andrew to take the Landini franchise on for East Yorkshire which tied in with the business moving to Full Sutton. Opening the new branch was like starting the business again with the addition of stores, showroom and excellent workshops facilities. More franchises followed from Reco and Garford in this year.

2009

A new company was formed within the Marwood group called Marwood Machinery Ltd to take care of the McCormick tractors side of business after been appointed dealer for North & East Yorkshire. Marwood group were also awarded Trioliet diet feeders dealership and Triffit Trailor dealership, strengthening the diversity the Marwood group could offer customers.
